LargoWeather.com Weather Station

Building LargoWeather.com โ My Personal Weather Station Project
I recently launched LargoWeather.com, a personal weather station website providing hyperlocal weather data for West Largo, Florida. Powered by a Davis Vantage Pro 2 weather station and the open-source WeeWX software, the site offers real-time observations, historical records, and NOAA-style reports.
๐ค๏ธ Why I Built LargoWeather.com
Living in Largo, I noticed that mainstream weather apps often lacked precision for our specific area. The closest official weather stations were miles away โ their data didnโt always reflect the real conditions in my own backyard.
To address this, I set up a Davis Vantage Pro 2 station in my backyard, aiming to deliver accurate, localized weather data for the Largo community.
๐ ๏ธ Technical Overview
Component | Details |
---|---|
Hardware | Davis Vantage Pro 2 โ trusted for reliability and precision |
Software | WeeWX โ an open-source weather software that processes and visualizes data |
Hosting | Self-managed Linux server for optimal performance and uptime |
