About Me

Doug Jenkins
Doug Jenkins

Hello, I'm Doug

I'm Doug Jenkins — a lifelong technologist, outdoor enthusiast, and proud family man. My journey with technology began at just nine years old when I got my first computer, sparking a passion for coding that's only grown stronger over the years. Today, I work as a software engineer who believes in building simple, clean, and purposeful solutions. But when I'm not writing code, there's a good chance you'll find me somewhere outside — hiking trails, exploring National Parks (over 40 so far!), or just chasing the next great adventure across North America.

What Matters Most

Family First

More than anything, I'm a husband and a father. My wife and I have been married for over 13 years, raising three incredible daughters who constantly remind me what life is really about. Whether I'm coaching them through life's challenges or sharing in their victories, being "Dad" is by far my favorite title. We enjoy traveling together, weekend cookouts, and creating lasting memories.

Personal Philosophy

I believe that persistence is one of the greatest drivers of success — that showing up every day and doing the work matters. I believe in leading by serving, in lifting others up to achieve something bigger together. And I believe that if you trust in yourself, there's always a way forward. I strive to approach life with curiosity, compassion, and a sense of adventure, while making a positive impact on those around me.

Hobbies & Interests

When I'm not working or adventuring, you might find me engaged in various activities that keep me grounded and fulfilled:

Creative Pursuits

  • Experimenting with photography
  • Reading historical non-fiction and science fiction
  • Working on home improvement projects

Community & Recreation

  • Volunteering with local community organizations
  • Playing strategic board games
  • Listening to audiobooks and podcasts

Fun Facts About Me

1 I've been to Alaska twice (and would go again in a heartbeat).

2 I've sailed the British Virgin Islands — and yes, it was as awesome as it sounds.

3 I'm a lifelong Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan — through the highs, the lows, and the creamsicle uniforms.

4 I read (listened to) over 80 audiobooks last year — there's always another good story waiting.

This site is a reflection of all of that — my life, my work, my adventures, and hopefully a little inspiration to keep moving forward.
